Here comes the March/April flood!

So, yes, nearly everything on my March/April list of things revealed this week. The only March/April exchange still outstanding is unsent_letters_exchange. So this post will be a lot of that, and I'm also dropping that as a regular line item, because that would just be silly.

Here we go:

• Exchanges due in May/June (hurtcomfortex, pickmeupexchange, idproquo, caseficexchange, seasonsofdrabbles, diegetic_exchange + mystery pinch-hits and treats): I am now at 2/6 for these, which was where I wanted to be for this week, so I'm happy with that. My goal is to get 2 more done this week.


• More gifts! I hadn't gotten to these 2 gifts for smut4smut last time, but now I have and they're both fantastic! Two Phoenix/Edgeworth fics that explore different angles of their relationship:
  
  
  • a battle he was ever destined to lose - Amazing snark/banter with competitive sex and Edgeworth losing his virginity! 😍
  
  
  • Perfectly Dishevelled - Smoldering hot sex with Phoenix and Edgeworth finally having sex after Phoenix's comeback trial! 😍
  
  
• Here's a whole buncha stuff I wrote that's now revealed, and some fun-facts about it:
  
  
  • So Many Assholes, So Little Time for wickedloveex - This a PH I picked up and was in a stretch where I was writing nothing but Eve/Villanelle for a few furious weeks. When I was saying that I hoped the finale wouldn't kill my inspiration, this was the fic I was talking about, and it didn't which was fantastic and I loved getting in this 'fix-it'!
  
  
  • It Takes Two to Tango - Another PH for Eddie Brock/Venom Symbiote, this time for smut4smut. Okay, so this was right after I'd finished Tentacular, and I was in a tentacle-porn phase. I had offered this fandom but didn't get it, so when the PH popped up, I jumped on and had a blast.
  
  
  • Paradox - This was my main assignment for wickedloveex, Tenth Doctor/Simm!Master, and went through soooooo many revisions. I do like the way the final version turned out, though (and seriously it is so, SO much better than my first three attempts). I felt like this would be easy to write when I signed up, but I ended up feeling rusty with my character voices and had to do some canon review.
  
  
  • Four Is the Luckiest Number - My main assignment for kinkluckydip, Dan/Anne/Eddie/Venom Symbiote. So, I'd actually offered this before I got the other Venom PH, and then I got this assignment and realized "okay, so I'm officially 'the tentacle porn' writer now". 🤣 I'd originally matched on Eddie/Venom, but I was already writing something for that and wanted more of a challenge, so I went for the tentacle-foursome in this, which was also fun! ❤️🐙
  
  
  • Waking Nightmare - This was my main assignment for smut4smut, and I finally got to put my non-con somnophilia feelings for S1 Will/Hannibal into order because, yes, Hannibal absolutely should have been hypnotizing and non-conning Will all through S1, yum!
  
  
  • Not Even a Euphemism - This was an unplanned Phoenix/Edgeworth treat for kinkluckydip, where I was reading the requestor's prompts one night and then the next morning this fic had appeared in my head fully-formed and the hardest part was writing it all out before I forgot it. I love when that happens!
  
  
  • My Cup Runneth Over - This was a planned Zeus/Ganymede treat for kinkluckydip, which I offered during sign-ups because I loved this recipient's prompt so much, and I promised myself I'd write it as a treat if it wasn't my assignment.
  
  
  • Finding You - I wrote 2 fics for my recipient for worldbuilding_exchange, and this was the one I deemed the "main gift" since it's by far the most sensible of the two. I loved the idea of delving more into the gaps of Hannibal's backstory and got to do it with this one!
  
  
  • R.I.S.K. Assessment - This was my humorous Hannibal fill for worldbuilding_exchange, where I got to make up a bunch of ridiculous serial killers and pit them against each other in a free-for-all and formatted it all as a cheery email conversation with really overly-detailed forms and contracts about the gazillion over-the-top murders happening in a small town. SO MUCH FUN TO WRITE! Fun fact about this was that my original plan was to write a typical narrative story from the perspective of the company's profiler (where Medea kept leaving her dead bodies at her doorstep like a cat leaving mice) but that idea didn't really go anywhere and I couldn't get any traction on it. And then I had the thought to go full-out unconventional formatting and that went soooo much better. At first the fic was going to be just the application/contract forms, but then I started to have fun with the email conversation between Billy and Cheryl (they're so plucky when things are so horrible! 🤣) so I spun that out into a frame story, and I just love the way it turned out.
  
  
• Things that are still candidates for May/June sign-ups: saturdaymorningex, summerofhorrorexchange, justunrequitedex, ahorseofcourseexchange, fandom5k, monstersmashexchange - I've put in nominations for a couple of these, just in case, and will see if anything interesting turns up.


• Femslash Salad Bar - Nope, nothing new!


• I finished The Untamed! 😭 Now I want more, and there is no more, and the ending is so perfect. I would seriously watch a million episodes of WWX and LWJ wandering around the world together solving various people's problems and flirting outrageously with each other.


• I've started watching Boku No Hero Academia and, oof, it is rough so far! 😔 I'm only 3 episodes in, and I'm planning to give it through the first season because I know that shonen anime/manga often start off terribly (I wouldn't have stuck with Prince of Tennis or Naruto after the first few episodes, either), but we'll see if it gets better. Right now my opinion of it is basically "What if it was Tiger & Bunny, except I hated all the characters, and it was really loud and obnoxious and cartoony?" However, like I said, my experience is that my opinion of shonen anime often changes after the intro arc. (Although, seriously, WHY do so many animes have horrible intro arcs?)


• I'm nearing the end of Vol. 3 of SVSSS! And it continues to be highly entertaining! And we finally got buttsex! 😝 I'm hoping to finish this week.

Goals for next week: 1) Write 2 May/June assignments. 2) Finish SVSSS. 3) Solder my way through BNHA, hopefully to the point where it starts getting good.
